The priority of the Grande Prairie Police Service is to provide agile police service made for Grande Prairie. Employing various strategies, the GPPS will create a supportive and contemporary foundation to back the success of all officer and civilian personnel.
High Training Standards
Our training programs are conducted in collaboration with local partners, contributing to the development of the local economy. Additionally, we ensure that our recruit constables receive a full salary and benefits throughout their training, enabling them to support themselves and their families. GPPS training will meet or exceed alternative police training programs.
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)
Building on the City of Grande Prairie's commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion, we provide EDI awareness and training programs to our employees. By embracing diversity, we strive to create an inclusive environment that values and respects all community members.
As a locally managed police service, we benefit from the advantage of local oversight and accountability. Our modest size allows us to be nimble and responsive compared to larger national services, ensuring efficient operations.
The Grande Prairie Police Service will be an integral part of Grande Prairie, building important community relationships while working with multiple agencies to provide exemplary service to Grande Prairie residents and business owners.
