Fentanyl and firearm seized in northern Alberta

Two people have been charged after ALERT seized fentanyl and a firearm. The seizure took place at a rural home in the County of Grande Prairie.

Codi McCreesh, 41, and Jamie Lee Ozechowski, 41, are charged with a total of 16 offences related to drug and firearms. ALERT Grande Prairie’s organized crime arrested the suspected drug dealers on October 21, 2025.

ALERT, with help from Beaverlodge RCMP and Grande Prairie Police Service, executed a search warrant at a rural home near the hamlet of Goodfare and seized the following:

  • One firearm;
  • Two prohibited magazines;
  • Various ammunition;
  • 188 grams of fentanyl;
  • 10 grams of methamphetamine;
  • Contraband tobacco products;
  • Approximately $15,000 in stolen property and suspected proceeds of crime.

Goodfare is located approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Grande Prairie.

“Taking fentanyl off the street remains a high priority for our team. Now are asking for the public’s information to help put these drug dealers in custody,” said Insp. Brad Lundeen, ALERT.

McCreesh and Ozechowski are jointly charged with production of fentanyl and carfentanil, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and numerous firearms-related offences.

Both suspects remain in custody. They are scheduled to appear in court on October 27, 2025.

ALERT’s investigation dates back to May 2025 in response to community concerns related to drug trafficking in the area.
