The Grande Prairie Police Service had an (icy) blast taking part in the Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Polar Plunge at the Eastlink Centre on February 28th. 

The group is proud to have been the top fundraising team for the event, with more than $5,500 raised for Special Olympics Alberta and the 2025 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games in Grande Prairie. Constable Cody Bailey was the top fundraiser at nearly $2,000, followed by Chief Dwayne Lakusta at more than $1,000!

In total, the event raised more than $21,000 to support athletes with intellectual disabilities, helping them achieve their dreams and compete in sports they love.
